Discernment-Ministries — Discernment Ministries was founded in 1989 by Travers and Jewel van der Merwe. They began to be deeply concerned with what they perceived within the church as a radical shift away from the authority of Scripture. This shift seemed to be steering the Church away from its firm foundation toward experiential faith. Travers van der Merwe passed away in 1995 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He encouraged his wife Jewel to continue in the work and not to waver in the stand against what he knew to be dark days coming for the Church. His conclusion after a lifetime of ministry was that one cannot, under any circumstances, build a doctrine/teaching on experience. Jewel married David Grewe in 2000. The main objective of Discernment Ministries is to point Christians to the Word of God as their sole basis for faith and practice. Many Christians are (often unwittingly) being led into mystical experiences and faith in something apart from the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ as expressed in the Holy Bible. Many sincere believers give more heed to an internal witness (and to their favorite minister or preacher) rather than searching the Scripture so as to confidently declare “it is written!” Faith is not a force that we can wield to manipulate our circumstances, nor is it a means to gain “hidden truths” or “deeper knowledge” of God. It is the desire of this ministry to assist believers to assess what they hear, and test what they are taught by comparison to Scripture. Always, the Word of God is our basis, our direction and our plumbline.

It has no philosophy, image, or agenda beyond this one unifying premise: America must return to its founding principles if it is to survive. RenewAmerica is thus nonpartisan and nondenominational. Because RenewAmerica is GRASSROOTS at heart, it remains fundamentally independent, creative, and energetic in pursuing its distinctive agenda in the cause of strengthening America. Berean Beacon — Berean Beacon is primarily an evangelistic ministry promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever possible. The ministry places particular emphasis on the evangelization and conversion of Catholics. The other main thrust of the ministry is to inform evangelical Christians about Catholicism through speaking engagements, distribution of literature, tapes, CDs, and DVDs. For seven years, as an outreach of the Beacon, Richard Bennett had regularly trained and led a Friday evening door-to-door evangelism outreach ministry. Rather than inviting people to church, the outreach ministry single-mindedly concentrated on presenting the Gospel to the people where they lived.
Proclaiming the Gospel — A Gospel outreach and ministry to Roman Catholics. Mike Gendron’s work is about equipping and encouraging the Body of Christ to be effective witnesses in the huge mission field represented by Roman Catholicism. The heart and mission of Proclaiming the Gospel ministry is driven by Mike and Jane’s deep compassion for Roman Catholics who are victims of deception. Together they recognize there is no higher calling than being ambassadors for the King of kings and taking His message to a lost and dying world. The supreme mission of the church is to be obedient to the Great Commission. God gives every Christian the privilege of glorifying Him by proclaiming the greatest news anyone will ever hear about the greatest gift ever given.
