Did the Church Replace Israel in the Plan of God?

As a precursor to reading this article, I suggest you read an earlier posting I wrote on Israel, called Israel, Back from the Dead. It would be a good primer on what is discussed in the article at hand.  Also, because of the length of this article, I am posting it as a PDF file to make it easy for people to print and read at their leisure.

The short, simple, and correct, answer is, “No.” However, short, simple answers rarely satisfy the one asking the question, and even more rarely does it make the question go away, but rather serves to intensify it. Yet before I get to the Bible I wish to address what is a clearly anti-Semitic attitude among much of the Church of Jesus Christ, founded, I believe, upon the writings and attitudes of Gentile leaders through the centuries. Here’s a sampling of some of what they said. It is estimated that 80-90% of churches in America believe in Replacement Theology, that the church has replaced Israel.
